In Local News…

A Man And Teenager are sentenced to prison for 15 years…

Two identified gang members were arrested today in Elizabeth NJ for the 2011 deadly shooting in Plainfield of an innocent bystander.
Jordan Camacho and Laquan Chandler, the victims of this case, are subjected to serve almost 13 years until being considered for parole says Scott Moynihan the Superior Court Judge.
Moynihan reported that Camacho and Chandler both were on probation from a previous shooting of 46 year old Nelson Santos Betance in Plainfield NJ. Investigtors concluded that the shots were fired into a car.
Bentance, walking outside a store, was shot at four or five times in the chest and collapsed. He was found dead at the scene.
Betance was not an intended target according to Authorities. Both Defendants pleaded guilty for manslaughter. On top of that, Camacho and Chandler were sentenced to a separate four year sentence for drug charges. This sentence will run paralle with their 15 years.

$462.46 worth of stolen goods from Walmart…
There was a report of 3 shoplifters at a Walmart in Linden NJ.  Alone at the Jewelry department, this trio stood in front of their cart to block the views of customers and sales clerks.
 Two of the three used pocketknives and box cutters to open packages to put in their pockets. The stolen goods included perfumes, razors, toothpaste and Advil.
The three were arrested for shoplifting. With bail for $11,000.

In National News…
Elvis has left the building…

20-year-old Heather Elvis of Myrtle Beach S.C Has gone Missing. Elvis was last heard from on December 18th after date. 
Two people are being held in custody in connection to the disappearance. Elvis’s car was found the next day abandoned.
Investigators said Elvis was driven home after her date around 2 a.m on December 18th.
After her arrival home, Authorities believe that Elvis drove herself to the boat landing. The reason remains unknown.  This rules out any suspicion for the man Elvis was on a date with.
15 investigators, and more than 300 volunteers have been on the look out since her Dec. 18th disappearance.

Anti-Gay law Passed in Arizona…
Phoenix Arizona passed a law with the votes 33-to-27 to allow business owners to refuse to service gays and others.
Governor Brewer, a Republican, has no comment of this legislation, but she vetoed a similar one last year.
All but 3 Republicans backed the bill and the senate passed it. Similar religios protection is being introduced to other states such as ohio, Kansas, Mississippi, Idaho, South Dakota, and Arizona is the only one that has passed so far.
